What are you looking at?

I used 3 images to make this composite. I took the shot of the baby turtle sometime last summer. The acorn cap Holly is sitting in I took last fall. And the image of Holly, just a few weeks ago.

I still feel like this one isn't finished. So don't be surprised if you see this one again only a little different. I asked my daughter Marlee if she had any ideas. She said put a hat on it. LOL that is her answer to everything!

This is an older picture of Holly at the park in the spring. There was no snow that day. The reindeer I bought at Photographers Unleashed. A great resource for overlays and other fun things to add to a composite.

Gator fishing edit

Crap I like this one better!!

Do you ever get so excited to share something that you post right away, then later wish you would have waited a bit because you thought of something better to share just moments after? No? Ok it's just me then.

I posted the gator fishing picture the other day with the layered file still open in photoshop. When I opened photoshop later the pictures was still there and I thought hmmm what if I...

So I changed it a bit. Then waited a few days to post in case it happened again. And all is good. This is the final edit. For real.

Would you like to be in a picture like this? Stay tuned I will be posting details on these types of sessions. And I'm thinking maybe a contest you could win a shoot, or a print, or something else. Let me know what you would like to win.

Stormy night

Stormy night

Crazy storm last night. The lightning was brilliant! The pictures before and after this one are completely black. I just stood at the door snapping.

A Family tree

This beautiful tree is the granddaughter of my grandmothers tree. See my grandparents have this pretty tree and it drops seeds and grows more. They dug up a baby one and gave it to my mother. When hers dropped seeds and little saplings started to sprout I got one of those. It took a few years but it finally started producing the fuzzies. I love these pink fluffy things because the attract butterflies. Maybe I'll get a few shots of butterflies soon.

These 2 pictures were taken within minutes of each other. The first one had direct sun light pouring on it like a spot light. The second one was fully shaded, and taken with a slower shutter speed. The slightest shift in angle and camera settings can produce a completely different image. Just another reason I love what I do!

Beach baby

Beach Baby

I have had several people mention to me how much they loved when I would post a picture a day. I found this amusing because to me it seems so long ago. I did it to keep my creativity fresh. And ya know, I could use a little of that now. So why not do it again?!!? So I am going to make it a part of my morning routine to post a picture from the day before. And what better way to officialy start off summer? Yesterday was Holly's first trip to the beach. She LOVED every bit of it, the water, the sand, the sun (except when it was in her eyes). Well the flies weren't so fun, they were chewing on everyone!  Overall it was a fun little outing.

Baby come back

Photoshop fun Friday 2

I really should do this every week. On my way to soccer practice last night I took out my idea journal and sketched this out (nope, not gonna show you my terrible stick figure sketches). When we got there Isaac went one way to practice and we went on the other side of the parking lot to take a few shots. I spent this morning mashing it all up just the way I wanted it. Sometimes I get an image in my head and I just can't rest until I have created it. There is an image haunting me now, but until I can get someone to wear clown makeup just the way I see it in my head I will continue to be haunted.
